THE STORY BEHIND THE ARTWORK

A London map based on Kristjana’s work for The Shard in 2015. ‘The Knowledge’ can be found on the 32nd floor of the iconic building, once the tallest in Europe.

‘Lundunar Kort Shard Gler Nal’ Limited Edition print depicts a large and vibrantly bustling map of London, an azure Thames flowing through the centre. Ornate flora and fauna provide pops of colour, a contrast to the more industrial side of London, with buildings made out of tools and industrial iron particles, for which there are many historical references. Don’t miss Kristjana’s elements of cockney slang and the quirky original street names.

Growing up in Iceland, where there are very few tall buildings, the impact the London skyline had on Kristjana was massive. She is truly inspired by this great city, and working on London themed artwork is a passion of hers.

Printed in our studio in London on Matt Smooth Fine Art Cotton 300 gsm, using giclée inks to ensure you are able to enjoy your print for years to come. All prints come with a physical Certificate of Authenticity.

Edition of 195, signed and numbered by the artist.

Our prints are professionally cut by hand in our studio, therefore sizes can vary by mm.

When ordering a framed XXL print, classic and float mount options are replaced with a ‘Distance slip / No mount’ option due to mounts not being available for prints of that size. The print is framed straight into the frame without a mount.
